A project designed to be a central hub for Rancho Cordova is still more than a year away, but the concept for it is starting to come into focus.
At a City Council workshop Tuesday, the development team of Griffin Swinerton introduced three preliminary alternative themed concepts for the site: a community arts canvas, an innovation hub and a holistic wellness center.
All three concepts feature housing as well as open space and community spaces, but with key differences in the latter.
The community arts canvas concept, for example, would have a community theater and art studios, while the innovation center would have a business incubator, coworking hub and tech maker space. The holistic wellness center would include a community health clinic and teaching kitchen, according to the Griffin Swinerton presentation Tuesday.
Runner said based on feedback from the workshop, Griffin Swinerton will bring back more refined alternative proposals in a few months. That would include specifics such as square footages for buildings and numbers and style of housing units.
